Preparation of the film

All of your films are first carefully monitored then cleaned by a digital specialist. Defective leader tape and splicings are replaced in order to prepare the film for optimal digitization.

Film digitization

Digitization one image at a time that will be careful with the film is performed on a Flashscan HD scanner built by the famous German company MWA. The transport of the film is continual and without dentated reels, so it is gentle with old film. The scanner’s parameters are adjusted by an operator for each spool, which gives you personalized service as determined by the film. We offer High Definition transfer for Super8, 8mm and 9.5mm film formats.

Our unique stabilization procedure

Bolex-Digital, in collaboration with the IDIAP Research Institute in Switzerland, has developed a unique video stabilization procedure. This process enables us to automatically eliminate all image vibrations. Our stabilization algorithm analyzes each image in your film and compensates for vibrations and sudden movements by the cameraman. Your films are more enjoyable to watch.

Colour Correction

The insidious enemies of film are time, humidity and temperature. Deterioration is often noted by a loss of colour density, a weakening of contrast and a loss of detail. Some films show dominance by a particular colour, like red for Kodachrome films and green for Fujifilms. Our operators manually correct each of your film’s sequences.
